Who saw Hough going 1-3? yes I know they played and lost to Butler, Byrnes and Myers Park. A pretty tough schedule, they beat Providence (1-4) and Providence's is a 9-0 win over East Mecklenburg (1-3) who has only beaten Phillip O. Berry 21-0. I'm going to stop on that line, the point is probably understood.
Hopewell (1-2) at first glance looks to be Hough's next win. But...
For some reason, MaxPreps has not included Hopewell's 54-6 defeat over Garinger. After losing 34 games in a row, the Titans are on a two game winning streak.
Hopewell appears to be fairly young this year as they only have a handful of seniors playing. After winning two games in a row, this team may have laid the foundation for additional success in future years.
About this game....at first glance, Hough should obtain their 2nd win of the season. The Titans might have something to say about that.
Hough #19 in 4A, #39 in the State
Hopewell #64 in 4A, #208 in the State.
Pretty big gap on both parts... 19-18 final? I don't think so...
It's a sizable gap, for sure. I don't see Hopewell holding Hough down to 19 points. I'm not sure if Hopewell could score 18 points against Hough, either.
I'm thinking more of a 47-12 score. Hopewell could make it closer...or the game could be a running clock.
I think Hough gets the win but one thing for sure is we will find out more about each team after the game.
yes we will. A few times when I think about this game, I see Hopewell giving them problems.
I do agree that Hopewell has greatly improved. Hough is definitely down. This game could get interesting.
