Watauga Ruins Alexander Central’s Homecoming in a Blowout Win

Tonight at Cougar Stadium on Alexander Central’s Homecoming Night. The Pioneers of Watauga and the Cougars of Alexander Central looked to be a tight game on paper but as October rolled around it turned out that this would be a early Halloween trick as this game would be one sided.
The Pioneers would receive the ball first and put up a lengthy drive on great runs by Jaiden Bond and a few others. The over 6 minute drive would be finished by Jake Waton’s 4 yard touchdown run (PAT good) Watauga leads 7 to 0 with 5:55 left in the first. Alexander Central would respond back getting a few first downs but as the Cougars faced a 3rd and 17 Alexander Central’s trick play would fail as Watauga’s Grant Oliver and returned to the Cougars 41 yard line at the 1:36 mark. This would finish your first quarter action as the Pioneers lead 7 to 0.
Jaiden Bond and company would move the ball more quickly in the top of the 2nd quarter. The drive would be finished on a 2 yard touchdown run by Jake Waton. (2 pointer good) Watauga leads 15 to 0 with 8:47 left in the 2nd quarter. The Cougars would answer back as they would go on a very long drive of their own. The drive would be lead by a key 3rd and 17 long pass from Lance Justice to AJ Miller that brought the ball down to the Pioneers 24 yard line. The Pioneers defense would hold though as the Cougars would have to settle for 3 points on a 30 yard field goal by Oscar Lopez that would cut the lead to 15 to 3 with 2:15 left in the 2nd quarter. This time the Pioneers would score at blazing speed as Jaiden Bond would get a first down at the 49 yard line. Then with 28.5 seconds left Anderson Castle would hit Sebastian Best on a long pass play that would take it down to the Cougars 7 yard line. 18 seconds later Castle would finish the scoring in the first half as he would take it I the endzone with a 4 yard touchdown keeper with 10.5 seconds left in the half (PAT good) Watauga leads 22 to 3 at halftime.
At halftime Isabella Holloway would be named 2019 Alexander Central’s princes and Chloe Meade would be named 2019 Alexander Central’s Homecoming Queen. Not much action in the 3rd quarter as Watauga would go back to thier long drive approach as the drive would be finished on a Anderson Castle to Sebastian Best 7 yard touchdown pass (PAT good) Watauga leads 29 to 3 with 1:10 left in the 3rd quarter.
During the 4th quarter scores by Jaiden Bond and Anderson Castle would put the score up to 42 to 3 Watauga before AJ Miller’s 24 yard touchdown would finished the scoring as the Pioneers win it in a blowout 42 to 10.
