Well we are going into the 6th week of high school football. Time is moving on. Would like to see a cool down with football type weather. Two teams will open in conference play and one will be open. So here we go for the picks.

5-0 Statesville  vs  Concord Robinson. Statesville has been on fire with a big 61-6 win over Concord last week. Seen that Statesville is #15 in the sweet sixteen in the Charlotte Observer. I think Statesville will have another big win over Concord Robinson 42-13.

4-1 Dudley vs  2-3 South Iredell... South Iredell had a big surprising win over Davie 31-28. But I think Dudley will be a different animal this week. This game is definitely a tough matchup for South.  Dudley 35-13.

1-4 Carson vs  0-5 North Iredell...This is both teams 1st conference game. Both teams are struggling. I think this maybe  N. Iredell best chance for a win but I think Carson pulls this one out. Carson 28  N. Iredell 14.

4-0 West Stanly  vs  2-2 East Rowan.. I don’t know anything about W. Stanly other than their record. East seems to be a little down from last year. Tough call to make but going with West Stanly by 7.

West Rowan is open.

Here are the scores for the NPC games.

Statesville over Concord Robinson 38-14.

Dudley 40  South Iredell 6. No surprise here.

Carson 35  North Iredell 14

West Stanly 47  East Rowan 6  West Stanly must have one more team.

West Rowan was open

Yes Statesville is still rolling. I feel like they still have room to peak out. Statesville and South Iredell will both have an open next Friday. Then in two weeks they play each other to open up the conference.

It's still too early to be talking playoffs... but I am starting to wonder how Statesville will fair in the playoffs. I am most impressed with their win over Alexander Central, that is proving to be an impressive win.

Statesville could well go undefeated this year in regular season. With some key players like the QB and the RB returning next year makes me wander what their season will look like.
