In week 1, which is normally difficult anyway as we don't always know what we're working with, I went 12-4-1 in my predictions.  I was able to rebound last week, going 17-2.  For the  first two weeks, I was combined 29-6-1.

We have a couple of intriguing matchups this week.  The predictions are below.

(1) Myers Park 42 Providence 14

(2) East Forsyth 43 (24 3A) Mount Tabor 20

(3) Vance 27 (2 3A) Hunter Huss 6

(4) Mallard Creek 41 Rocky River 6

(5) Richmond 34 (8) Butler 24

(6) West Forsyth 43 North Mecklenburg 21

(7) Scotland 31 Marlboro County 20

(9) Cardinal Gibbons 37 Heritage 20

(10) Wake Forest 41 (15) Middle Creek 17

(2 5A) Byrnes (Duncan, SC) 43 (11) Hough 21

(12) Grimsley 23 (8 3A) Eastern Guilford 20

(13) Leesville Road 38 Fuquay-Varina 14

(14) Ardrey Kell 34 Marvin Ridge 17

(16) Porter Ridge 37 Piedmont 13

(17) Hillside 34 Southern Durham 14

(18) Reagan 28 (9 3A) Watauga 24

(20) Seventy-First 44 E.E. Smith 14

(23) Mooresville 30 (21) Davie County 28

(22) Jack Britt 17 Pine Forest 14

(25) Garner 41 Millbrook 17

Great job!  I even liked most of your points spreads.

The one game that I think will go the other way is Ardrey Kell-Marvin Ridge.  This game should tell us much about both teams.

The fans should love watching the Grimsley-Eastern Guilford game.  Both teams could have special years.

It'll be interesting to see if the point spread on Vance isn't higher. I know Huss people don't want that. But...

It might be difficult for Mallard Creek to hold that spread down as well

Looks like Hough is in for a "game"

And that Mooresville Vs Davie game... I might flip on that one. Can Mooresville score that many points???

Maxpreps has a freaky Top-25...

MaxPreps definitely has a flaky top 25.  I haven't been able to figure Mooresville out yet.  These first couple of weeks it's been challenge doing a prediction for them.   Rocky River is the same way.  Hopefully will see more after this week.   From the east, it's interesting trying to figure out Wake Forest.  Is Wake Forest that off this year so far or is Cardinal Gibbons that good?  Probably a combination of both.  The rest of the season will be interesting.

I understand. Sometimes it can take teams a few games to get into proper gear, while others struggle to find the gear all season.

It's only two games, but Mooresville appears to have an offensive problem. But that is hard to say why without watching 100% of their two games. Unfortunately, Mooresville doesn't post their stats on MaxPreps.
