Tonight was what many would say would decide the Queen City 3A/4A Conference in only the first week of play. Catholic won the QC last year, but had struggled recently. Olympic was fresh off a few wins, and the Independence game aside, this team looked like a team that could make a run at state.

It was Friday Night, the Lights on, and the Moon Full. Providence traveled to Olympic, both teams fresh off of a loss. Olympic, having lost to Independence pretty bad the week before, knew they had to prove they were a team deserving of respect; and Providence, fresh off the surprising loss to North Meck, had to prove they were still a team that could possibly stop Independence’s streak.

When you look back on the Olympic and Independence game, don't look at the scoreboard. Don't look at Barnes' 3 TDs. Don't look at McFadden throwing for 5 TDs. These aren't what made the game what it was. As Olympic Head Coach Maurice Flowers said "We made too many mistakes".
