Newton-Conover held a 29-26 lead in the final seconds but Maiden would hit a 3 pointer to send the game into overtime. The Red Devils scored 2 points and held the Blue Devils scoreless as Newton-Conover takes it 31 to 29.

Girls Newton-Conover 62 Maiden 50

Maiden would have senior night but was looking to spoil the Lady Red Devils perfect conference record. The Lady Red Devils would look to put the game early as they jumped out to a early lead of 23 to 10 end of 1st quarter lead and a 12 point halftime lead. The Lady Blue Devils would get close as 9 in the 3rd but misses ed and Cornwells monstrous game would spoil senior night for the Lady Blue Devils 62 to 50. Chyna Cornwell unofficially finished with 44 points as they improve to 19-4 (13-0) in thier 17th straight win host East Lincoln for thier senior night Friday. Gracie Arrowoods 25 points unofficially lead the Lady Blue Devils who fall to 8-15 (7-6) as they travel to Lincolnton Friday as they need a win to keep thier hopes alive. Currently there is a 4 way tie for the 2nd place automatic berth between Maiden Bandys Lincolnton and North Lincoln all at 7-6. Maiden only graduates 2 seniors.

Boys Maiden 51 Newton-Conover 43

The Red Devils were looking to spoil Senior Night for the Blue Devils 10 seniors and put a dent into thier conference championship hopes. It would look that way early as they jumped out to a 17 to 13 1st quarter lead. The Blue Devils would finally get into gear talking a 3 point lead and hold that lead til the end of the 3rd quarter. Newton-Conover would tie the game but Maiden would get on a late run and build a 12 point lead late. Senior Casey Ly would salt the game away with a pair of free throws (Casey Ly' s Father was unable to see his son's senior night due to a medical condition and was in the hospital). Newton-Conover would cut it to 8 but the Blue Devils hold on for a 51 to 43 win. Martinez and Kennedy would finish lead the Red Devils in the lose with 11 and 10 points each. As Newton Conover falls to 14-9 (8-6). Host East Lincoln for thier senior night Friday. Montrell Stinson and KK McDaniel 15 and 11 points lead the Blue Devils in the win who improve to 21-2 (12-1) can clinch at least a share of the South Fork 2A Conference crown with a win Friday at Lincolnton or a Newton-Conover win vs East Lincoln. Maiden finishes undeafted at home in the regular season.
