Maiden/North Lincoln JV Split. Maiden Varsity Girls Blow Past Lady Knights.Maiden Boys Survive Scare To Set Up 1st Place Showdown Friday

After a double overtime thriller that saw the ref stop the game in double overtime as the first basket would win it. Maiden would get it near the end of the 2nd ot and wins 33 to 31 for the jv girls. North Lincoln JV boys looked strong and Maiden would struggle as the Knights take the JV boys game 46 to 34.
Maiden was playing without starting center Zoe Huffman and came into this game just 3-10 on the year. Fortunately for them 2 out of 3 wins were conference wins. And only a game out of first at 2-1 in the South Fork 2A. North Lincoln came in 7-2 but 1-2 in conference play. As the game got started Maiden jumped out to a 16 to 11 first quarter lead. North Lincoln would fight back making it a 2 point game. After halftime Maiden would blow the game wide open outscoring the Knights by 15 in the second half winning the game 53 to 36 and improving to 4-10 overall 3-1 in the South Fork 2A. North Lincoln falls to 8-3 1-3 in the South Fork 2A (North Lincoln girls would defeat Hibriten to get thier 8th win Wed.)
Freshman Aly Wadosky would lead the Lady Knights with 12 points in the lose.
Andrews would lead the Lady Blue Devils with 19 points. Gracie Arrowood and Henschal would get into double figures as well. Also Marley Mingus chipped in with 7 points off the bench.
The 12-1 Blue Devils looked to set up a 1st place showdown with East Lincoln Friday but would have to get past upset minded North Lincoln first. North Lincoln would jump out early to a 9 to 2 1st quarter lead. Maiden would finally get it together taking a 4 point halftime lead. Maiden would jump out to a 12 point lead but North Lincoln would fight back making it a game and would start fouling with under a minute left. Maiden would miss key free throws and North Lincoln would tie the game at 51 with 30 seconds left. Kk McDaniels last second jumper gave the Blue Devils a 53 to 51 lead and North Lincoln pass would go out of bounds and Maiden escapes to improve to 13-1 overall and 4-0 in the South Fork 2A setting up a 1st place showdown with East Lincoln Friday. North Lincoln falls to 4-7 overall and 1-3 in the South Fork 2A (record includes Wed. Lose to Hibriten) Carter and Quillia had 20 and 24 points (44 out of thier 51 points ) to lead the Knights in the lose. KK McDaniel had 14 points to lead the way for Maiden. Mason High and Montrell Stinson also got into double figures with 11 and 14 points.
