Maiden Sweep Bandys In The South Fork 2A Conference Opener

Tonight the Trojans of Bandys hosted the Blue Devils of Maiden in the South Fork 2A conference opener at Bost Matheson Gymnasium. The Maiden JV Boys and JV Girls would sweep the Junior Varsity action.

Looking at this final score you would think Maiden was the undefeated team but not the case. Maiden Lady Devils would jump out to a early 14 to 12 1st Quarter lead. Then would outscore Bandys 30 to 16 entering the final quarter. With Maiden leading 44 to 28. Bandys would cut it to 12 in the early stages of the final quarter but Maiden would put the game out of reach as The Lady Devils would stun the previous undefeated Bandys Lady Trojans 53 to 36 Maidens Zoe Huffman apx 24 points and Gracie Arrowood apx 18 points lead the Lady Blue Devils in scoring in the win as Maiden improves to 2-5 overall and 1-0 in South Fork 2A conference play. Bandys was lead by the Dutka sisters with Emily's 8 points and Logan's 7 in the lose. The Lady Trojans fall to 4-1 overall 0-1 in South Fork 2A. Coach Frank Snider said in the post game Interview this is the best we've played and hopes this play continues. Bandys Coach Nikki Sigmon in her 2nd season falls to 0-4 all time vs the Lady Blue Devils as head coach.

Varsity Boys Recap Maiden 51 Bandys 47

Maiden and Bandys entered tonight undefeated. Bandys would take the early leading 17 to 11 after the 1st Quarter and lead 27 to 23 at break. Maiden would come alive in the 3rd quarter taking up to a 6 point lead but Bandys would fight back as the game would be tied at 35 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Maiden looked to have the game in the final quarter but Bandys Claxton would give the Trojans the lead late but on the next possession Mason High would give the Blue Devils the lead for good with a 3 of his own. Maiden KK McDaniel and Montreal Stinson would ice the game with 3 clutch free throws . Bandys would go cold and Maiden wins at Bandys 51 to 47. Maiden improves to 7-0 overall 1-0 in South Fork 2A with the win. Bandys falls to 4-1 overall 0-1 in South Fork 2A. Maiden was lead by KK McDaniel's 16 points Montreal Stinson's 14 and Mason High's 13 points. Bandys was lead by Claxton's 23 points. This win gives Maiden's Head Coach Danny Anderson 692 wins in his career (credit goes to Chris Hobbs on this info).

Next up both teams play one last non conference game on Friday before Christmas as Maiden travels to Fred T Foard. Bandys will be at Patton.
