Hibriten Ruins Senior Night for Patton in a Shutout Takes Outright Northwest Foothills 2A Conference Crown in Thier 3rd Straight Perfect Regular Season

Tonight Hibriten was looking to extend its winning streak to 27 games (last lose December 10 2016 26 to 0 to South Point). And extend thier Regular Season win streak to over 3 years. The last lose in the regular season was a 22 to 20 lose on October 30th 2015 to thier opponent tonight the Patton Panthers.(Hibriten Regular Season win streak would start a week later of that year on November 6th in a 48 to 20 win over Hickory). Tonight the Hibriten Panthers were looking to win Thier 3rd straight outright conference championship but Patton was looking for a share of it. It was also the 10th senior night for 15 Patton football players and many band members.

As the game got started from the first play from scrimmage Hibriten's Marqwone Jones would gain a huge running play of 62 yards putting Hibriten into scoring position. 4 plays later Jaylen Scott 1 yard qb keeper would finish the drive. (PAT Good) Hibriten leads 7 to 0. After a Patton punt Hibriten showed they ain't just a running team. As Jaylen Scott would hit Marcus Jones on a 67 yard passing touchdown. (PAT Good) Hibriten leads 14 to 0 with 7:48 in the 1st quarter. On the next play the 1st of 2 Patton's few highlights would happen. As Jamir Epps would take the kickoff 62 yards putting Patton in scoring position. But unfortunately the drive would stall at the Hibriten 40 forcing a long field goal try that was way short. The Panthers of Hibriten would then finish the 1st quarter scoring with 32 Jaylen Scott qb keeper (PAT Good). Hibriten leads 21 to 0 with 1:22 left in the 1st quarter.

During the beginning of 2nd quarter disaster would strike for Patton as a hard hit would jar the ball lose and Hibriten's Clyde Valentine would fall on it at the 11:11 mark of the 2nd quarter. That would set up another Jaylen Scott to Marcus Jones long pass play. Her Witherspoon would finish the drive on a 2 yard TD run. (PAT Good) Hibriten leads 28 to 0 with 7:37 left in the 2nd quarter. A minute Patton would fumble the ball back to Hibriten. That would set up a Gee Witherspoon 30 yard run. But unfortunately for Hibriten that's when Patton's 2nd biggest highlight came as they would recover a fumble at thier own 7 the very next play. But it would be all for nothing. As Weston Fleming would be called for Intenual grounding in the end zone and it would be a saftey. Hibriten now leads 30 to 0 with 4:15. 2 minutes later Gee Witherspoon would put the final touches on a Hibriten dominating 1st half as he would finish the drive on a 12 yard touchdown run. ( PAT Good[ Hibriten leads 37 to 0 with 2:23 left in the 1st half. That would be your halftime score.

Not much action would happen after halftime Patton would go on a long nice drive but would be stopped. Hibriten would finish the scoring in the game with a 3rd quarter drive of thier own as Marqwone Jones would run in a 1 yd touchdown. (PAT Good) Hibriten now leads 44 to 0 with 42 seconds in the 3rd quarter. That's when the mercy rule would go into affect and no team would put up anymore points the rest of the game. So Hibriten wins 44 to 0.

With the win Hibriten (11-0) overall (6-0) in the Northwest Foothills 2A. Wins the conference title outright. They also win thier 34th straight regular season win 27 straight win and a almost 3 year road game win streak. They will also be waiting next Saturday to see who they will be traveling to November 16th in the 2AA State Playoffs.
