Bunker Hill Wins At Home for the 1st Time Since October 2016 and Win Back to Back Games For the 1st Time Since September 2015 As They Beat East Burke on Homecoming Night

Tonight the Bears were looking to do something they haven't done in almost 2 years and over 3 years. Number 1 was to win at home (which they haven't done since October 21 vs Bandys) and Number 2 was 2 win 2 in a row  (which they haven't done since September 4 and 10 2015 vs foard and West iredell). Tonight the Bears welcomed the Cavaliers of East Burke who was looking to snap a 6 game losing streak. It was also homecoming for the Bunker Hill Bears in what looked like what could be a great game on paper and this one would not disappoint.

As the game got started both teams would go 3 and out. On thier 2nd series  Bunker Hill would  go 3 and out and would punt but disaster would strike as the Cavaliers East Burke would block the punt and recieve the ball in thier territory.East Burke would move the chains advancing the ball to the Bears 18. Facing a 4th down the Cavaliers looked  to take the lead on a easy field goal. But senior Raheem Carson would have other plans as he would block the field goal and  take the ball 82 yards for a Bears touchdown  (2 point conversion no good) 6 to 0 Bunker Hill with 1:17 left in the the 1st quarter. That would be all the scoring in the 1st. East Burke would be force to punt after another 3 and out. That's when Raheem Carson would find the end zone again. This time on a 51 yd rushing  TD (pat good) Bunker Hill now leads 13 to 0 with 11:49 in the 2nd quarter. Both teams would not move the ball out of their territory tilaround 2 minutes til halftime. As Bunker Hill would give East Burke a present on 4th down as the Bears would be called for encroachment twiced giving the Cavaliers a 1st down. The Cavaliers would then move the ball downfield and finish the drive on a Seth Pruitt qb keeper on a 2 yd TD (pat good). Your halftime score is 13 to 7 Bunker Hill.

During halftime 2 touchdown king Raheem Carson would be named Homecoming King and Miss Brooke Palowski would be named Homecoming Queen. As the 2nd half started the Bears would extend their lead. As the Bears would be on the move. The drive would be finished by Desmond Andersen  to Kaliq Ramsuer 26 yard pass  (pat no good) Bears now lead 19 to 7 with 7:32 left in the 3rd quarter. There would be more scoring until 6 minutes in the 4th quarter. East Burke would get close in the 3rd but would fumble deep in Bears territory. East Burke would finally put a good drive together and would move the chains. The drive would be finished by Josh Moore on a 10 yard touchdown. (Pat good ) 19 to 14 Bunker Hill with 5:47 left in the game. Bunker Hill's  Desmond Ramsuer would then return the kickoff to the Cavaliers 37. That's when Adrian Powell would finish the drive on a 7 yard rushing TD (Pat good ) Bunker Hill now leads late 26 to 14. East Burke would answer though as they would move the ball in the final seconds. The drive would be finished a QB Seth Pruitt to Jaylen Jefferson 19 yard pass strike.(Pat good). 26 to 21 Bears with 11.4 seconds left. East Burke would then attempt the onside kick but the ball would not travel 10 yds. Bears ball and take a knee. Bears win at home for the first time since October 21 2016 and win back to back games for the first time since September 10 2015. Your final Bunker Hill 26 East Burke 21 final.

With the win Bunker Hill improves to 2-7 overall 2-2 in the Northwest Foothills 2A and will travel to West Iredell ( who lost 26 to 7 Friday) Next Friday. The Cavaliers fall to 1-7 overall and 0-3 in the Northwest Foothills 2A and will try to snap a 7 game losing streak as they host undefeated Hibriten (who defeated Draughn 70 to 0 Friday) next Friday.
