Bandys 422 Rushing Yards Ends Maiden' s 3 Year Road Winning Streak

Friday Night on a humid evening at Gary Butler Memorial Stadium. The Trojans brought out the alternate gold back to Randy Lowman Field for the first time since 2010 and looking to end Maidens 3 year road winning streak. Maiden who hadn't lost a road game since 2015 (2nd round playoff lose to Monroe) and hadn't lost a regular season game since 2016 (lose to East Lincoln). There were something about uniforms that hurt maiden when Bandys brings out unusual uniform combos. The Trojans wore all white back in 2006 when they were the 1st team to defeat Maiden at the new Thomas E Brown Stadium.

As the game got started Maiden would receive the ball and go to the red zone but would be stopped on 4th down. Bandys 1st possession wouldn't fair any better as penalties hurt them. The game would stay a defensive battle until a past mistake from back to hurt Maiden as it did 2 weeks ago vs St. Stephens. A punt was blocked by Ethan Howard. That's when qb Lake Hojackni would run it it before the end of the 1st quarter 14 yards to put The Trojans up 7 to 0. Maiden would strike back as Bain Sipe would hit Dylan Abernathy on a  49 yard TD pass  (2 pointer good) Maiden takes the lead 9:07 left before the half. Both teams would then stall (Bandys with penalties Maiden with 3 and outs). But that's when the last minute would bring full action as Bandys would finish a drive of with a Jacob Ellis 9 yard TD run (2 pointer no good) Bandys up 13 to 8 with 54 seconds until halftime. Maiden would not be outdone as Bain Sipe would hit Montrell Stinson 37 seconds later on a 14 yard TD  (2 pointer good) Maiden leads at the half 16 to 13.

When Bandys would receive the to open up the 3rd quarter. The game would go downhill in a hurry for Maiden. As fullback Ethan Howard would run 58 yards to the house to put Bandys up 20 to 16 with 11:37 left in the 3rd quarter. Bandys would then get a interception and Bandys would make Maiden pay. Hunter Jones takes in 4 yards (pat good) Bandys takes a 27 to 16 lead with 10:44 left in the 3rd quarter. After a Maiden 3 and out. Bandys would chew up over 11 minutes getting down to the blue devil 5. But a penalty would back it up to the 17 and the Trojans would have to settle for a Ben Joseph 23 yard field goal Bandys now up 30 to 16. Maiden would answer right back as Bain Sipe would hit Dylan Abernathy again on a 50 yard TD  (pat no good) Bandys leads 30 to 22. Bandys answers right back as Jacob Ellis takes it the kickoff to the blue devils 15. Bandys punches it in Bandys leads 37 to 22 with a little over 3 minutes to play. Maiden moves quickly and Bain Sipe would hit Brennan James to put the blue devils back in it but would need a 2 pointer to cut it to a 1 score game. But unfortunately the 2 point would be incomplete and the score would remain 37 to 28. The onside kick would be recovered by Bandys ending the game and Bandys ending the streaks by a score of 37 to 28 Trojans.

With the win Bandys moves to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the South Fork and will travel to Dick Gurley Stadium  to meet the Newton-Conover Red Devils (who beat Lincolnton 34 to 7 Friday). Maiden falls to 4-1 overall and 0-1 in the South Fork 2A. As they host the West Lincoln Rebels at Thomas E Brown Stadium next Friday  (who were upset by North Lincoln 7 to 6 Friday).
