Stinsons 3 Interceptions Leads Blue Devils to a 4-0 Start Over pesky Indians.

The Friendly confinds of the Reservation of St. Stephens were trying to be unfriendly to the Blue Devils of Maiden Friday night for the first time since 1980. But at the end it would remain the home away from home til at least the next decade. As the game would get started St. Stephens would get the ball first. Few plays later Conner Williams would be picked of by Montrell Stinson. That's when Maiden would get to work because that's when qb Bain Sipe would find WR Dylan Abernathy on a 34 yd TD. The 2 point conversion would by KK McDaniel would  make it 8 to 0 Maiden with 9:01 left in the 1st quarter. But the sophomore Conner Williams would not panic as he got the Indians back in the game and on 3rd down he would find Zach Lee on a acrobatic 34 yard catch to set up Xavian King. King would then add 2 big gains including  a 11 yard drive for a touchdown pat would be good score now 8 to 7 blue devils with 7:22 left in the 1st quarter. Maiden would drive down the field but a fumble deep in Indian territory would end in no points the rest of the first quarter. Maiden would continue to drive deep in Indian territory in the 2nd quarter but the Indians would would hold on 4th down leaving the score 8 to 7 in the middle of the 2nd quarter. (Maiden would drive into the Indians redzone 3 times but a fumble and 2 4th down stops would equal 0 points) St Stephens offense would fair no better as the brick wall defense would force the Indians to punt. Maiden would finally strike in the middle of the 2nd quarter. Filling in for a minor injured Bain Sipe, KK McDaniel would hit Montrell Stinson on a 39 yd td to put maiden up 14 to 7 with 5:59 left in the 2nd quarter. It would stay that way until bout end of the half when the Indians fumbled with around a thier 43 Maiden recovers. Maiden would get one more chance to stretch the lead and they would leak every second. Thats when with 10 seconds left they would face a 4th and 3 and  Bain Sipe would find WR Dylan Abernathy around the goaline the refs 1st say out but the refs speak it over and determined he's in at the goaline to set the Blue Devils up 1st and goal with 4 seconds left. Maiden would then run the ball and Lee Turner would get in to put the halftime lead after the the pat attempt. 21 to 7 at the half. After the 1st half the Indians defense would step it up forcing 7 out of 8 possessions Maiden had to punt. But the Indians would be hunted by interceptions 3 of them 2 more by Montrell Stinson and one by a lineman but St Stephens would finally get a lucky break with 5 minutes in the game. A blocked punt would be recovered by St.Stephens and 2 plays later Conner Williams would run it in to cut the Maiden lead to 21 to 13 with 3:27 left in the game. The pat would be blocked by Garrett Bolick. After a 3 and out by Maiden.St. Stephens would put a 12 play drive to force a tie in regulation  but on  the game would in after on 4th and 2 the pass would be incomplete and maiden steak of regular season games dating back to 2016 and road wins would not be snapped. With the win Maiden improves to 4-0 and  will have a bye week next week before opening conference play with arch rival bandys on the road who were 62 to 6 winners over bunker hill. With the lose St. Stephens falls to 1-2 and will travel to meet 0-4 Fred T. Foard who were 42 to 10 losers to West Lincoln 42 to 10 Friday.
