By: Anthony Perkins

Dallas – North Gaston celebrated Senior Night in a big way on Thursday night at Trudnak Stadium by handing the visiting Lincolnton Wolves a 49-27 loss before entering conference play next week against Hunter Huss.  The win pulls the Wildcats back to a 2-2 record and drops Lincolnton to 1-3 before they also enter conference play next week at Newton-Conover.

North Gaston quarterback Isaiah McNeil lit up the visiting Wolfpack for four touchdowns on runs of 34, 43, 13 and 51 yards.  The first three scores came in the first half and helped the Wildcats push out to a comfortable 28-7 half-time lead.  In addition to notching four scores McNeil totaled 178 yards rushing in only seven attempts and he completed three of five passes that accounted for 46 additional yards.

Arthur Kennedy posted a touchdown on a one yard run in the first half and Kareem Kennedy added two more touchdowns for the Wildcats on runs of 20 and five yards to complete the scoring for North Gaston.

Lincolnton answered the first NOGA score when Terrell McClain hooked up with Skylar Evans on a six yard pass in the first quarter but McNeil and the Wildcats owned the rest of the first half.  Lincolnton running back Tyshawn Harris added two scores in the third quarter on runs of 22 and 82 yards and Tyreke Hollis capped off the Wolves scoring by catching a 15 yard toss from McClain to cut the margin to 42-27 pulling the Wolves within two scores but it just wasn’t enough in trying to overcome North Gaston’s 35-7 lead.

North Gaston rolled up 398 total yards, 352 rushing and 46 yards passing, they rattled the chains 17 times, lost one fumble, and were flagged eight times for 90 yards.

Lincolnton tallied 359 total yards, 247 rushing and 112 yards thru the air.  They moved the chains 19 times, lost one fumble, tossed one interception, and were flagged two times for 15 yards.
