Ardrey Kell tops Cuthbertson 35-31, Moves to 3-1

On Monday Night, the Ardrey Kell Knights defeated Cuthbertson 35-31 in a pretty close game.  Cuthbertson scored with :02 seconds remaining to narrow the gap.   Both coaches were very frustrated with the officiating crew, who at one point in the fourth quarter threw flags on 5 consecutive plays. With the win over Cuthbertson, Ardrey Kell improves to 3-1 and has a bye this week, Friday 9/19.  This bye week could not come at a better time for the Knights.  They have been through 4 very tough games, all of which were very closely contested. While the offense shows signs of brilliance, speed, and power at times, they need to closer match the consistency of the defense in the 4th quarter.

AK's next game is at home (homecoming) against West Mecklenburg on 9/26.   The following weeks, they travel to Olympic, then host Harding.  Using the rankings and current records of their next 3 opponents as a barometer, AK could be 6-1 heading into a rowdy Providence Panther stadium on  Friday 10/17.   This said, AK has a lot of football to play to make that happen, and they shouldn't look past next week's match-up with the West Mecklenburg.  One game at a  time.
