but it looks like gaston county stays as one conference as a split 2a/3a unfortunately its a 7 team league which means someone (likely NG) ends the footballseason again with a bye. and left north Lincoln in the iredell conference. stupid. and having only 2 2a schools means both make the playoffs in everything

most of the old southwestern 3a is in a 2a/3a league. replace crest who was 4a at the time with North Gaston and South Point and you have what was the southwestern 3a when i played.

Dude did you type that stuff out correctly? five 3A teams and two 2A teams? So Huss and Cramer can automatically make the playoffs for four seasons. They can lose every ball game and still make the playoffs.

I hate split conferences...

thats the way it sits. i hate that too. they should at least drop teh plus one if there are only 2 in a conference. or make them both finish top half or not in last or something.

Well the +1 is basketball. Football it is the top two teams in the division. I guess with a two team division in a split conference those two teams make the playoffs in every sport! Sometimes I just want to take the NCHSAA and beat them against the wall. Overall they do a great job, but a few areas and this would be one of them, they fall on their face.

actually the plus one is all team sports except wrestling and football. (track, swim, cross country have minimum times to qualify for regionals)

They should use the format for foootball in basketball at least. Probably all sports.
