This was a good game for I would say 2 and a half quarters, then Butler turned it on mid 3rd quarter and pretty much didn't look back. Providence I think will be fine once they get into conference play, but Butler found another gear in the 3rd quarter behind their running game and a rejuvenated defense. We have interviews with Coach Hales, Jamal Worthy, and Quasean Holmes. Please enjoy....

This was a rough non-conference ride for Providence, but I think they have learned a lot and improved each game. The number one thing they need to do is play 4 quarters...the last couple weeks they are in the hunt and a bad break mid-third quarter opens the floodgates.

They are young on both sides of the ball in the trenches and defensive backfield..but you can see improvement in each game. They need to realize they are going to give up some points on defense and open up the offense more to get the ball to their playmakers. It’s been way to bland and predictable so far.

As long as a they can stay healthy, I think they will compete at the top of the conference. They have some good players but still not a great team yet. Whether they get that together will determine how they do in conference.

On a side note...after seeing Hough, Myers Park, and Butler in the non conf schedule, Hough was by far the class of the field. Myers Park has loads of talent, but not the physicality of Hough in the trenches.

From the Providence perspective, Kakavitsas at receiver was impressive, saw he had 7-175 and 2 TDs, him and Ogunmola are a handful on the outside. Mattar runs hard too. Missing Bloomingburg I'm sure limited some offensive stuff, but I can see why you say that AJK.

Defensively, yeah I can see them being young and Butler just found something and went with it 2nd half. But luckily for them, most teams in the conference this year aren't stacked with 2 Division 1 backs behind a good OL.

West Meck so far is the class of the conference, but the #2 bid is open season right now.
