4 Replies and 74 Views Dear Union County  74  4 Started by  FootSoldier I know what you're thinking, I know what you believe. Fourteen years ago in Rocky River 2A you had to admit to one another we can't run with Catholic. Every week of HS football if Catholic was on your schedule it was understood 'tonight we lose, tonight we are nothing' and it was always true. My friends brace yourself, that reality is returning to Jokeworld aka Union County football. 'No Foot, it's different now. If you think Catholic shows up now and does the same thing, you're so wrong....

0 Replies and 13 Views Southern Nash 38, Green Hope 28  13  0 Started by  Jim West Do not look at the final score and believe that the game was close.  With about 10 minutes left in the game, I decided to mosey on down the road.  At that time, Southern Nash was leading 38 to 7.  In fact, Green Hope&39;s one touchdown at that juncture was a fumble recovery in the end zone. Southern Nash runs a double wing formation, and last night, their running backs were having a considerable amount of success.  On four different times in the first 3 quarters, I saw fo...

The Cougars shut out the Knights in the second half to earn this W.  Catholic started out strong picking off Shrader in the endzone to end the first Christian threat. Catholic would make Christian pay with a Milan Howard 4yrd touchdown run.  Christian would answer right back with a Garrett Shrader 40yrd TD run, that kid can move I will say that!  The Cougars would strike back again this time w...

3 Replies and 210 Views Charlotte Christian @ Catholic  210  3 Started by  CatholicCougs14 Well the season is here boys and girls! Gonna be a great one I think and Catholic starts it off with one of the toughest games in the state. A matchup against private school favorite Charlotte Christian who returns 18 starters and 35 lettermen from last years team.  Catholic will be without LB Chase Foley who was injured, but look good elsewhere it seems like for Friday night injury wise. It will be a battle I think of who can play more disciplined football. Last year Catholic lost the t...

Southern Lee.  There will be some holes to fill on both sides of the ball but we should see a veteran team make some noise. 1 Replies and 136 Views 1961 to 1971: No 3A state champions  136  1 Started by  Jim West Starting in 1961, the NCHSAA, for some reason, did not have a unified 3A state championship game.  In fact, in 1961 only the 4A classification would have a unified title.  I am not sure why we did not have a state championship game.  I&39;m sure there is a reason...just like I&39;m sure that many of us would not approve of the actual reason. Starting in 1961, the 3A classification was divided into two separate regions.  In 1967, these regions were referred to as "Ea...
